The company was formed in 1962 by founder and accountant, Harold Newman, and a couple of close family members. They saw an opportunity to lend money to clients who were in need of short term funds. By using their own personal overdraft facilities they found a way of building a new business which in turn helped their clients build their own businesses.
Jabac quickly developed new relationships with its clients, and within a few years, word of mouth spread, and the client base grew larger, wider and more varied. Our clients have changed as the lending business has evolved. While our ethos and business model has remained largely the same, our clients have become more diverse both in their types of businesses and their geographical locations. We've grown from being a primarily London based business, to having clients across the UK.
As we celebrate our 60th year, Jabac is proud to continue its time honored service of providing small loans to small (and medium sized) businesses, traders and entrepreneurs.
